Michelle Obama's 60 Minutes Dress
My guess is Maria Pinto considering her previous work:
I'll update when I know for sure.
UPDATE 11/18/08: Sorry for the delay! I went out of town and forgot that I would not have internet access.
As reported by the Chicago Tribune (and noted in the comments by many eagle-eyed commenters/ the designer is indeed Maria Pinto - but it's not a dress! The "Eme" top and "Rani" skirt are from Pinto's spring collection, but she made it in tweed for Mrs. Obama.

Please do b/c that dress is so chic! Hopefully it is store bought though otherwise I'd be particularly sad.

I would like more information on Michelle Obama's necklace she wore on 60 Minutes.

Yes, the "60 Minutes" outfit is Maria Pinto, but it's a top and skirt, in a deep iris-purple. Like the red dress worn by Obama to the White House, it's from the spring collection but was apparently done up for Obama in a rather heavier, tweed fabric for fall wear.

Indeed it was a Maria Pinto design.

I like Mrs. Obama's outfits. However, It seems as if she prefers a lot of the sheath dresses. I'm ready for a little more funk to her style. Although, McCaine's wife resembles the "barbie doll" type, she has a chic, classy, but funky style to her dressing.
