My Little Brown Eye... Cupcakes, Cocktails & Charms

I had a great time on Monday night in Williamsburg at Cupcakes, Cocktails & Charms, hosted by my same-name bud Nichelle Stephens and her Cupcakes Take The Cake partner Rachel Kramer Bussell.
The event was held at the adorable Brooklyn Charm, owned by Tracie Howarth.

The cupcakes (by Intoxicating Confections, using Svedka vanilla vodka) as expected, were amazing.  The charms merit a $55 and Under column of their own: super cute, affordable and unique.  My keychain was made on the spot (ditto for the other party guests) but you can make your own charms too, if you are so inclined.  

 

A Little Hanky Panky

The great thing about Hanky Panky is that they make a variety of bralettes and camis using stretch lace to compliment those of us who don't need a heck of a lot of support in that area. In place of underwire or padding, a supportive band is used.  As for the bottom half, to thong or not to thong? Not my cup of tea, but if it works for you? Work it.

Fall 2011 Preview: ERES lingerie @BarneysNY

ERES, the elegant Chanel-owned swimwear and lingerie line, recently celebrated opening a new space at Barneys New York, a welcome return after closing two stores last year.

I stopped by Barneys to get a preview of their fall and holiday offerings - guipure lace bras, silk crepe tunics, Calais lace body stockings with clever details - and I was disappointed... that I have to wait until Christmas to get it.

You Want This: Kelly Rowland's Yellow Gold and Diamond Finger Bracelet

Kelly Rowland's yellow gold and diamond finger bracelet by the brand new line called Elodie K. gave me a random flashback to my teenage years when I, inspired by Miss Jackson, wore a key on my earring - and eclectic jewelry like this.  I think this piece would be a nice step up for the modern me, especially against a simple sheath dress or a classic fitted blazer like the one Kelly is wearing above at the X Factor final auditions in London.  It would also work, quite well, with a bikini, shades and a Kindle...
