Revenge of the Curves would like to welcome our brand new Health and Medical Columnist, Mana Lumumba-Kasongo, MD, MS, FACEP. Dr. Kasongo is board-certified emergency physician as well
as a nationally published writer with expertise in emergency health care issues and women’s health.
Born in the then Zaire, now the Democratic Republic of Congo, Dr. Kasongo received a Master’s degree from the Columbia School of Journalism, a medical degree from Rush Medical School and completed her residency in emergency medicine from New York University in 2006. Dr. Kasongo has also worked as a freelance reporter for many news venues including InStyle Magazine and Institutional Investor. She also co-founded the Black Star News, a weekly investigative newspaper in New York City and has recently had articles published with ABC News, Newsweek and Real Health Magazine.
Presently, an attending physician at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia, Dr. Kasongo will be answering questions from readers every Thursday here at Revenge of the Curves so be sure to email her at Dr.Kasongo@revengeofthecurves.com with your women's health questions.
